Grievance Officer
Last updated: 1 October 2026.
Yap's Grievance Officer is Hari Vishnu S, who also runs Yap. Write to harivishnu20258@gmail.com with “Grievance” in the subject.
What you can write about
- Something on Yap that breaks the house rules or the law.
- A decision about your account — a warning, a suspension, or a disabled account — that you think is wrong.
- Your data: a copy of it, correcting it, deleting it, or how it's used (see the Privacy Policy).
- An intimate, sexual or edited image of you shared without your consent — even if you don't use Yap.
What to include
The email address of your Yap account, if you have one, what happened and roughly when. To contest a decision, say which one and why. You don't need to know who someone is to report them — describe the conversation and we'll find it.
Never send us an image of a child, even to report it. Describe it instead, and report it to the police at cybercrime.gov.in or by calling 1930.
How quickly
- We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours.
- We decide on it within 15 days, and tell you what we decided and why.
- A request to remove content that is obscene, harms a child, impersonates someone, or is otherwise unlawful is acted on within 72 hours.
- An image showing you nude, in a sexual act, or edited to look like you is removed within 24 hours of your complaint.
If you're not satisfied
You can appeal our decision to the Grievance Appellate Committee within 30 days, at gac.gov.in. For a complaint about your personal data, you can also go to the Data Protection Board of India.
Law enforcement
A government agency with a lawful order can write to the same address with “Law enforcement request” in the subject. We respond within 72 hours.
In an emergency
If someone is in immediate danger, call 112. For a child in danger, call Childline on 1098. Yap isn't an emergency service and can't send help.
